Wireless carriers — how complaints work

Checked 2026-10-12. Every point links to its source. “Reported by customers” marks an anecdote from a forum: a tactic to try, not a fact to quote.

In short

Raise a billing problem in writing before the carrier's dispute deadline (60 days at T-Mobile, 180 days at AT&T), and keep paying the undisputed part. Retention ("loyalty") teams can offer a better plan, but leaving has costs: device installment balances usually become due and you pay for the whole bill cycle. If the carrier does not fix the problem, an FCC informal complaint gets a written answer, usually within 30 days. No major carrier asks for your PIN, password or one-time code in a call or text it starts; turn on the free number-lock features to stop SIM-swap and port-out fraud.

Let your AI agent handle this

Escalate Anything is a free, open-source MCP server for Claude, Cursor, VS Code, Gemini CLI, Codex and other AI apps. Your agent gets this playbook, keeps a case log with reference numbers and follow-up dates, and drafts each message for you to approve.

1. Set it up (needs uv):

uvx escalate-anything setup

2. Ask your agent:

My problem with [company]: [what happened, with dates and amounts]. Use Escalate Anything to get it resolved.
