Escalate Anything

SeatGeek: event cancelled, postponed or changed

For an event officially cancelled and not rescheduled, the Buyer Guarantee gives a full refund of the purchase price to the original payment method or, where state law allows, a credit, at SeatGeek's choice. Postponed, TBD or rescheduled events are not refunded unless state law requires it.

Steps

  1. Confirm the event is officially cancelled and not rescheduled. For a postponed, TBD or rescheduled event the tickets usually stay valid; if you cannot go, resell them on the SeatGeek Marketplace.

  2. Wait for SeatGeek's notice about next steps, then check the order in your account.

AppContact Support from the order (Event Experts) SeatGeek app or seatgeek.com > Tickets > select the order > Contact Support Sign-in required
  3. If you want money rather than a credit, ask in writing for a refund to the original payment method and mention any state law that requires a cash refund.

AppContact Support from the order (Event Experts) SeatGeek app or seatgeek.com > Tickets > select the order > Contact Support Sign-in required
  4. If SeatGeek does not refund a cancelled event, dispute the charge with the card issuer (rule fcba-billing-error).

  5. Report the refusal to the FTC and your state attorney general.

  • seatgeek.com and support.seatgeek.com return HTTP 403 to automated fetching, so an agent may not be able to read the help center or the Buyer Guarantee directly.
  • Support is reached from the order inside the signed-in account (app or website); phone support is offered only within 7 days of the event for urgent issues.
