Tips

Rules in force

If that fails, escalate

Go up one step at a time. Keep the reference numbers and dates from each contact.

  1. Customer service

PhoneVerizon customer service (speak to an agent) +1-800-922-0204
  2. Retention team

PhoneVerizon customer service (speak to an agent) +1-800-922-0204

Verizon says to call Customer Service before disconnecting to see if you qualify for additional offers.

  3. Supervisor

PhoneVerizon customer service (speak to an agent) +1-800-922-0204

Verizon's arbitration FAQ says you can ask to speak to a Supervisor.

  4. Written complaint

Starts the 60-day period before arbitration. Use the wireline form for Fios.

  5. Federal regulator

  6. State agency

Your state’s attorney general. Find it in the list of state agencies (also as JSON: states/<code>.json, for example states/ny.json).

  7. Arbitration

If not resolved within 60 days of the notice, file with the AAA, or bring an individual small claims action.

Watch out

  • Cancellation and number transfers need the Account Owner (or an Account Manager for transfers), with the Account PIN or the last 4 SSN digits.
  • Generating a Number Transfer PIN online needs sign-in to My Verizon on a standard monthly account.
  • Verizon's contact page and main customer agreement page block automated fetches; the support-path agreement page works.

Let your AI agent handle this

Escalate Anything is a free, open-source MCP server for Claude, Cursor, VS Code, Gemini CLI, Codex and other AI apps. Your agent gets this playbook, keeps a case log with reference numbers and follow-up dates, and drafts each message for you to approve.

1. Set it up (needs uv):

uvx escalate-anything setup

2. Ask your agent:

I pay Verizon [amount] a month. Use Escalate Anything to get the price down.
