Eventbrite: event cancelled, postponed or changed
Organizers must refund all orders when they cancel. Ask the organizer first; if the event was cancelled within the last 45 days (or postponed more than 90 days without a new date) and the organizer declines or does not answer within five business days, submit the Attendee Refund Request form to Eventbrite.
What does this mean?

Facts you can cite
- Deadline
Eventbrite's refund article says an order may qualify for an Eventbrite-required refund if "The event was cancelled within the last 45 days" or "The event has been postponed for more than 90 days without a new date scheduled". The organizer should respond within five business days. If the organizer denies or does not respond, contact Eventbrite through the Attendee Refund Request form; "you have 45 days and until the event is rescheduled to contact Eventbrite." Eventbrite can only refund payments processed using Eventbrite Payment Processing.

- Policy
Eventbrite's Cancelled Event Policy (events cancelled on or after April 15, 2021) says "When organizers cancel their event, they must refund all attendees". Cancelled means the event will not take place on the scheduled date and will not be rescheduled within 90 days. Eventbrite holds the event payout so refunds can be processed and "reserves the right to issue refunds on their behalf and at cost to the organizer."

- Deadline
Eventbrite's Postponed Event Policy (events postponed on or after April 1, 2023): organizers must give a new date within 90 days of announcing the postponement and may decide refunds at their discretion during days 0-90. During days 91-135 they must honor refund requests even if a new date has been set. From day 136 they must process refunds on request until the event is rescheduled. Organizers must respond to refund requests within five business days.

Tips
- Community tip
An email from Eventbrite's own system can still be phishing. Researchers reported in October 2024 that scammers created fake events to send phishing invitations from noreply@events.eventbrite.com that impersonated banks, energy companies and delivery services. Check the event and its links, not only the sender.
