Tips

If that fails, escalate

Go up one step at a time. Keep the reference numbers and dates from each contact.

  1. Customer service

AppChat in the Vivid Seats app Vivid Seats app > chat
  2. Written complaint

  3. Card or bank dispute

Fair Credit Billing Act billing-error and purchase-dispute rights (Regulation Z)

Electronic Fund Transfer Act error resolution and unauthorized-transfer liability (Regulation E)

Card dispute for a cancelled event that was not compensated (rule fcba-billing-error). The Terms threaten collection and account bans for chargebacks on charges Vivid Seats considers legitimate; keep proof that you followed the Terms.

  4. Federal regulator

  5. State agency

Your state’s attorney general. Find it in the list of state agencies (also as JSON: states/<code>.json, for example states/ny.json).

Watch out

  • The website's Existing Orders help needs sign-in ("Log in to view existing orders"); chat is in the mobile app.
  • Compensation for a cancelled event depends on returning the original tickets within two weeks of Vivid Seats' notice.
