Ticketmaster: billing error
Since May 12, 2025 the FTC fee rule (rule ftc-junk-fees-rule) requires the total ticket price, with all mandatory fees, to be shown up front. Compare the advertised all-in price with the checkout total and the card statement.

- order confirmation with the fee breakdown
- card statement
Steps
Compare the price shown when you chose the tickets with the total charged. Ticketmaster says the price shown covers face value and required fees; taxes are generally added separately.
Ask Fan Support to correct a charge above the total you agreed to.
If it is not corrected, send a billing-error dispute to the card issuer (rule fcba-billing-error).
Report undisclosed mandatory fees to the FTC (rule ftc-junk-fees-rule) and to your state attorney general.

Facts you can cite
- Fee
Ticketmaster's fee page says the face value is set by the Event Organizer, the upfront price "covers both the face value and required fees", and taxes are generally added separately. Service fees are negotiated and shared between parties to the event. A facility charge is set by the venue, and "Ticketmaster does not keep any portion of the facility charge."
