McAfee: refund request
McAfee's published policy (search-result text) allows a refund request within 30 days of the first purchase or within 60 days of an automatic renewal, for terms of one year or longer.
What does this mean?
Grade C (use with care: check the source of each value before relying on it). 61% of 23 sources are the organization's own pages or government sites; 4 value(s) were read from a search snippet or an archive copy.
Collect
- order or invoice number
- charge date and amount
- card statement
Steps
Check the charge date against the 30-day (new purchase) and 60-day (automatic renewal) windows.
Call McAfee and ask for a full refund; turn off auto-renewal in the same contact.
If McAfee refuses a refund inside the window, or charged you after you turned off auto-renewal, dispute the charge with your card issuer.
Facts you can cite
- Deadline
McAfee's US refund policy says annual subscribers who ask within 30 days of purchase are eligible for a refund, and that McAfee refunds the most recent automatic renewal charge in full if you ask within 60 days of the charge. McAfee does not give prorated refunds.

Watch out
- www.mcafee.com refused automated fetches on 2026-10-13, so McAfee's refund policy, auto-renewal terms, account URL and phone hours could not be read directly. Values marked "search-result text" need confirming.
- Turning off auto-renewal needs sign-in to the McAfee account.
- Do not use "McAfee support" phone numbers from search results, pop-ups or emails; fake renewal invoices with call-back numbers are a common scam.
