Carnival Cruise Line: travel credit or voucher problem
Cancelling an Early Saver fare before final payment gives a future cruise credit worth the deposit less $50 per person, to be used within 12 months. When Carnival cancels for a reason other than mechanical failure, the contract gives a future cruise credit or onboard credit; for a nonperformance cancellation you can choose a refund instead.

Collect
- booking number
- fare type and deposit paid
- cancellation date
- credit amount and expiry date
Steps
Check the fare type. The Early Saver deposit is non-refundable; a cancellation before the final payment date gets a non-refundable, non-transferable future cruise credit.
Book the new cruise within 12 months of the cancellation date. Any unused part of the credit is forfeited.
If Carnival cancelled your cruise or delayed it more than 3 calendar days and gave only a credit, ask in writing for a refund instead (see refund_request).
If Carnival refuses the nonperformance refund, file with the Federal Maritime Commission.

Facts you can cite
- Limit
For an Early Saver cancellation before the final payment due date, the future cruise credit equals the deposit minus a $50 per person service fee. It must be used for a new reservation within 12 months from the date of cancellation, only on Carnival sailings available in U.S. dollars and only toward the price of that cruise. Any unused portion is forfeited.

Watch out
- help.carnival.com answer pages (including the nonperformance refund policy) render only with JavaScript; a plain fetch returns an empty page.
- The Guest Care form needs the booking number, ship and sail date. Guest Care has no published phone number.
- Sail & Sign statements need sign-in to the carnival.com account.
- Carnival says it cannot speed up the release of bank holds; only the card issuer can.
