Known scams

  • Federal Student Aid says aggressive forgiveness messages, such as ones that tell you to act immediately before a program is discontinued or that your loan is flagged for forgiveness and you must call now, do not come from the Department of Education or its partners.

Verification notes

Aidvantage is the trade name of Maximus Education, LLC (site footer: "Maximus Education, LLC dba Aidvantage"). It services Direct Loans and FFELP loans held by the U.S. Department of Education. Aidvantage welcome flyers say borrowers came from Navient (logins kept) and from FedLoan Servicing. No 2025-2026 change to Aidvantage's federal servicing role was confirmed on a source. Aidvantage's web pages load phone numbers and addresses with scripts, so the values here come from PDF flyers on images.aidvantage.studentaid.gov.
