## In short

Robinhood support runs through the app: 24/7 chat at robinhood.com/contact and phone help only by in-app callback, so any "Robinhood" number from a web search is suspect. Put the problem in writing in a support request and keep the case number. For brokerage problems the next steps are FINRA and, to recover money, FINRA arbitration, which the Customer Agreement requires; for cash card, credit card, money transfer or crypto problems, file with the CFPB. Robinhood closed every CFPB complaint in the 12 months to June 2026 with an explanation only, and charges $100 to transfer an account out.

## How complaints actually go

- Support is in the app or at robinhood.com/contact, where Robinhood offers 24/7 chat. Phone help is a callback you request; Robinhood says it typically calls within 30 minutes, phone hours are 7 AM-9 PM ET (Monday–Friday only for investing features), and not every inquiry is eligible. [Robinhood: how to contact support](https://robinhood.com/us/en/support/articles/how-to-contact-support/)
- Separate lines exist only for Robinhood Crypto, Spending and Cash Card (888-275-8523); the 650-761-7789 line is general information only and cannot handle account questions. [Robinhood: how to contact support](https://robinhood.com/us/en/support/articles/how-to-contact-support/)
- Robinhood publishes a complaint procedure for its UK business (complaints_uk@robinhood.com, seen in search results), but we found no U.S. complaint address or complaint email; the U.S. route is a written support request. [Robinhood UK: complaints](https://robinhood.com/gb/en/support/articles/complaints/) [Robinhood: how to contact support](https://robinhood.com/us/en/support/articles/how-to-contact-support/)
- A CFPB complaint goes to Robinhood for a written response. A response later than 15 days, or 60 days if the company asks for more time, is recorded as not timely; 112 of Robinhood's 1,815 CFPB complaints in the 12 months to June 2026 were not timely. - Brokerage disputes go to FINRA arbitration under section 39 of the Customer Agreement (revised October 1, 2026). [Robinhood Customer Agreement](https://cdn.robinhood.com/assets/robinhood/legal/Robinhood%20Customer%20Agreement.pdf)

## What tends to work

- For a lost or blocked brokerage transfer, complain in writing to Robinhood, keep copies, then file with FINRA's Investor Complaint Center. FINRA asks you to go to the firm first. [FINRA: file a complaint](https://www.finra.org/investors/need-help/file-a-complaint)
- Cite FINRA's March 2025 findings when an account was taken over: FINRA fined Robinhood Financial and Robinhood Securities $26 million and found their anti-money-laundering programs missed accounts taken over by third-party hackers. [FINRA news release, March 7, 2025](https://www.finra.org/media-center/newsreleases/2025/finra-orders-robinhood-financial-pay-375-million-restitution)
- If an account is compromised, ask Support at once to freeze it; if you cannot log in, email support@robinhood.com. [Robinhood: identify and report scams](https://robinhood.com/us/en/support/articles/how-to-identify-and-report-scams/)
- To recover money, FINRA arbitration is the route the agreement sets; a claim must be filed within six years of the event. [FINRA Rule 12206](https://www.finra.org/rules-guidance/rulebooks/finra-rules/12206)

## Traps and fine print

- Robinhood may restrict deposits, withdrawals or trading, or close the account, at its sole discretion and without prior notice, and says it is not liable for losses from refusing a deposit, withdrawal or transaction. [Robinhood Customer Agreement, section 13](https://cdn.robinhood.com/assets/robinhood/legal/Robinhood%20Customer%20Agreement.pdf)
- Transferring out costs $100 per transfer, crypto and futures cannot move to another broker, fractional shares are sold, and after a full transfer starts the account is locked; only the receiving broker can cancel it. [Robinhood: transfer your assets out](https://robinhood.com/us/en/support/articles/transfer-your-assets-out/)
- Crypto transfers cannot be reversed, and Robinhood says it cannot reimburse crypto transfers that you authorize. [Robinhood: identify and report scams](https://robinhood.com/us/en/support/articles/how-to-identify-and-report-scams/)
- Arbitration replaces court for brokerage disputes; Robinhood will not force arbitration on members of a pending court class action until certification is denied or the class is decertified. - The CFPB says companies sometimes choose "Closed with explanation" even when the consumer got relief. [CFPB 2025 Consumer Response Annual Report](https://files.consumerfinance.gov/f/documents/cfpb_2025-cr-annual-report_2026-03.pdf)

## Scams that target customers

- Fake support numbers: scammers post "Robinhood" phone numbers in search results and on social media. Robinhood gives phone support only by in-app callback, tells you in the app which number it will call from, and says not to use numbers found through a browser. [Robinhood: identify and report scams](https://robinhood.com/us/en/support/articles/how-to-identify-and-report-scams/) [Robinhood: how to contact support](https://robinhood.com/us/en/support/articles/how-to-contact-support/)
- Robinhood will never ask for your password, 2FA code or secret recovery phrase, ask you to install remote desktop software or share your screen, or ask you to send money or crypto. [Robinhood: identify and report scams](https://robinhood.com/us/en/support/articles/how-to-identify-and-report-scams/)
- Off-platform investment groups on WhatsApp, Discord or Telegram promise fast, high returns; pump-and-dump schemes target low-volume stocks and crypto. [Robinhood: identify and report scams](https://robinhood.com/us/en/support/articles/how-to-identify-and-report-scams/)
- Forward phishing to reportphishing@robinhood.com with full email headers, or a screenshot and the sending number for texts. Robinhood does not reply. [Robinhood: identify and report scams](https://robinhood.com/us/en/support/articles/how-to-identify-and-report-scams/)
